Friday's Holiday Party...

This will be coming home today with students:

December 19, 2017
Dear 4th Grade Families,

On Friday, December 22nd, we will be having our classroom holiday party.  The party will take place from 1pm - 2:45pm. This is a nice way to celebrate the holidays together and they will leave with gifts for others/holiday decorations.  I will provide the students with hot chocolate and they will read their Letter of Kindness at this time at one station. I have been out sick this week, but anticipate being back later in the week. Below are the responses that I had over the last few weeks. I’m planning on still having the party, just trying to organize from home. Please email me with any changes or if you now would like to create a craft or run a station. We will be watching the Polar Express in the morning, so students are allowed to wear pajamas to school for this special day!

The following people are signed up to create a craft and bring in supplies for 20 students, as well as run that station:

Martha, Stephanie’s Mom

It is going to be a busy week in our classroom!  Friday is going to be full of fall fun with our field trip to Sandy Point and our Halloween Party! It's not too late to join us at Sandy Point Discovery Center. We will be leaving Lincoln Street at 9:10 am and plan to arrive at 9:30. If you would like to chaperone, the cost is $4. You can send the $4 ahead of time to school, or give it to me when arriving at Sandy Point at 9:30 am. They asked that one person collect chaperone money for organizational purposes. Students will be divided into groups and we will rotate stations. Come join us for a little while, or stay until 1 pm!  Students are asked to dress in layers, as it can be windy and cold. I have submitted school lunches to the cafeteria. Please let me know of any changes no later than Wednesday. I am so excited for them to continue their Estuary PBL (Project Based Learning) at Sandy Point!

When we return to school, we will have a Halloween Party from 1:30-2:30 pm. Third grade cornfield characters will be outside of Lincoln Street, as well as the Main Street Halloween Parade that passes by our classroom! Get ready for an exciting day!

This week I will be posting a SignUpGenius here on the blog for November Conferences! I will send home a written notice as a reminder to sign up!

Spelling: Lesson 7 due Friday

Reading: 20 minutes

Math: Home Link 2-3 due Tuesday
           Home Link 2-4 due Wednesday
           Home Link 2-5 due Thursday
Students are encouraged to practice multiplication facts. We are starting multiplication in Unit 2 and a faster fact recall makes is less frustrating for students.

Thank you for all your support at home! We're doing a great job strengthening our positive growth mindset in the classroom!
