Updates, Field Trip and November Parent/Teacher Conference Sign Up!

Hello 4th Grade Families!

To sign up for our November Parent/Teacher conferences, please click on the link below for Signupgenius:

Tomorrow is our first field trip! We will be leaving close to 9 am and returning at 1:30ish. Chaperones are asked to meet us there at 9:30 am. Everyone should dress in layers and be prepared for rain.  I encourage students to wear winter coats, hats and gloves. Comfortable boots and sneakers are encouraged. I reminded the kids today to pack a nut free lunch and bring a change of clothes for when we return if they are cold and wet.  I was told that one of the stations will be a snack stop this year!

Grades close this Friday and report cards will be sent home the following Friday.

Spelling, Lesson 5 will begin on Wednesday due to the field trip. Therefore, students will not have spelling homework this week until Wednesday. They should still read every evening for 20 minutes.  Math homework will be 2-4 on Monday, 2-5 on Wednesday, and 2-6 on Thursday.

Week of October 9th

Please continue to look at your child's Circle Notebook on Friday afternoons. This is where I glue in a letter from me about what we have been working on that week and what is to be expected for the following week.  Students took the Lesson 3 Spelling test on Friday.  We will be finishing Lesson 3 work over the next two days. There will not be any spelling homework this week! On Friday, all 4th grade teachers have professional development and there will be a substitute. Due to this and it already being a short week, Lesson 4 spelling will begin on Monday, October 15th. The spelling test will be on October 19th.

A reminder that students are expected to read for 20 minutes each evening for homework. Our Unit 1 Math test will be Wednesday, October 10th. Home Link 1-13 Perimeter was sent home for Monday homework (most finished it in class) and their math notebooks to review notes.

Please continue to send in Sandy Point permission forms and $8. Our field trip is on Wednesday, October 23rd.

First Week of School Success!

Hello 4th Grade Families,

We had a wonderful week getting to know one another!  I am so lucky to have such a kind and energetic group of students this year!  Please look for a letter in your son/daughters backpack that I sent home today about literacy. It explains the Daily 5 and what we have been working on this week! In math, we worked on place value and played math games. In Social Studies we explored where in the world New Hampshire is, compared towns vs. cities and today learned about the New Hampshire flag by coloring and discussing its 1909 creation. Be ready for your child to ask you why the flag has 9 stars!  We also had our first science class with Mrs. Leaver this week and began daily practices of Resortative Justice Morning Circles. Please find attached our work about "A GREAT Classmate.."

Have a nice long weekend together!
